In 2019, my wife and I decided to move to North Yorkshire. We were conscious that we would be two hours drive away from Sale and my Mum but Mark and Wendy ( The Care Manager) assured us that we could rely on Beloved to take good care of Mum and make sure that she was well looked after. This was demonstrated shortly afterwards. In 2020 Covid struck and lockdowns meant that we couldn’t travel across to visit Mum. During this period, she fell again and was in hospital for a while. When she was discharged, we were unable to come over to be with her so without hesitation, Wendy stepped in and stayed with Mum for the first few nights of her return home. This was the kind of service that we came to expect from Beloved and it’s staff and was consistent in all the years that we knew them. Everyone genuinely “cared” for Mum and had a relaxed but professional relationship with her which she and we really appreciated. We also appreciated the quality of communication which was always timely and reassured us when we were 100 miles from Sale.

I believe that those who care for others, particularly the elderly, should be respected and appreciated by all of us and valued as employees. I know that Mark feels exactly the same way and the staff of Beloved receive salaries, benefits and training that encourages them to provide an excellent service and remain with Beloved. This attitude is demonstrated by the caring and consistent service which they always provide.

During the last week of Mum’s life in June 2024 she was cared for at home as she had been. Wendy along with Emma and April, the Care Supervisors and their colleagues did everything they could to make Mum’s last days comfortable and free from anxiety. They also supported my family and I during this time as they had always done.

I cannot emphasise enough what a difference Mark, Wendy, Emma, April and their colleagues made to the last years of Mum’s life and the peace of mind that brought to me and my family.
