Royle Family Celebrate Les’s Life Accomplishments

Sale resident Les Royle celebrated his 95th Birthday on the 6th February 2020. Les has lived an amazing life full of laughter, love, and accomplishment and is 5 years away from receiving his Telegram from the Queen to mark his 100th Birthday.

For 95 years I’ve lived in Trafford

Les has lived in Trafford for a staggering 95 years. Throughout his career Les worked several jobs whilst his children were growing up. At one point he was working 7 days a week, 3 jobs at a time to support his family. Les has been with Beloved Homecare for 3 and a half years. The original care plan involved care for him and his wife Cath. The incredible pair were married for an astonishing 70 years. The aim of the care plan was to be able to help them both live independently in the comfort of their own home. This allowed the amazing duo the opportunity to stay in their own community, surrounded by familiar memories and possessions. After Cath’s passing our carers have continued to deliver exceptional care; helping Les maintain his wellbeing and independence.

A telegram from the Queen

The monarch has been sending telegrams since 1917. The purpose of this is to commemorate and mark special events such as age milestones and anniversaries. Our remarkable superstar client Les is only 5 years away from receiving a telegram from the Queen for his 100th Birthday.

Only a select few will receive a telegram from the queen but apart from being a centenarian is there another reason why you would receive a telegram?

Information gathered from the gov.uk shows a number of reasons why you would be eligible for a telegram from the queen. You can get a message for someone’s:

  • 100th birthday
  • 105th birthday
  • Birthday each year following their 105th

You can apply online for a birthday telegram.

You can also get a message for a couple’s:

  • 60th (diamond) anniversary
  • 65th anniversary
  • 70th (platinum anniversary
  • Anniversary each year following their 70th

A Manchester United fan since day one

Les is an avid watcher and follower of world-renowned football team Manchester United. To help Les keep up with his passions in Football, members of our office team, including our Managing Director Mark have taken Les to Manchester United football matches. Our amazing carers have also supported Les in visiting the Manchester museum.

As a care company we aim to enrich the lives of our clients by helping them pursue their passions. For Les we aim to take him to see his favourite football team whenever possible. We are also looking to take Les to Stretford Public Hall, a place where he used to spend a lot of his youth dancing.
