Age UK Trafford is a local independent charity that has existed since 1975. It works across the borough of Trafford to provide services and support to people over the age of 50 and their carers. During the present pandemic, it has been running one of Trafford’s 6 community response hubs, delivering food and medication to the most vulnerable as well as carrying out well-being calls to older people.
Online and telephone support for the vulnerable
Alongside this, whilst its building is closed to the public, its information and advice service and its dementia advice service have continued to run. This has provided much needed continued support to older people and their carers by telephone and more recently via online Zoom session.
Connect with members of the Trafford community for a coffee, chat & fun games
Join Age UK Trafford each week for a virtual get together. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Age UK Trafford weekly coffee morning and other regular sessions had to close, but recently it has been inviting people to “Connect” again at online Zoom sessions every Tuesday.
Zoom is a market leader in enterprise video communications, with an easy and reliable cloud platform which delivers clear video and audio conferencing, chat and webinars. It’s free to use and easy to set up.
Join the new virtual coffee mornings every Tuesday at 11 am for a get together where people can share useful information, local updates, have a chat and play some fun games.
You can access all this from home, simply install the zoom app or access their website on a tablet, mobile phone or computer and follow the instructions for zoom. If you are struggling to get connected you can contact Age UK on 0161 746 9754.
