Our ‘Outstanding’ CQC Inspection 2021

We have recently been rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC

We are pleased to announce that following from a recent routine Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection, we have been awarded an overall ‘Outstanding’ inspection rating – The highest possible rating. The full inspection report can be downloaded by clicking here. Our Managing Director, Mark Collier, wanted to say a few words.

This extraordinary achievement would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our incredible members of staff, especially through the difficult year we have all faced. We’re proud to be delivering a quality homecare service in Trafford, including Sale, Urmston, Altrincham, Hale and Timperley. Since 2015, this is now our second inspection that has resulted in an ‘Outstanding’ rating, this follows from our previous inspection in 2018.

To put our achievement into perspective, our latest homecare inspection means that Beloved are the only provider of Adult Social Care, within the whole of Trafford, to enjoy such a rating. Furthermore, Beloved Homecare is now one of four, within Greater Manchester, to have four or more individual enquiry lines rated at ‘Outstanding’.

What is the purpose of a CQC inspection?

As the independent regulator, it is the CQC’s job to register, inspect and monitor the quality of the service. The CQC inspect a service based on the 5 following enquiry lines:

  • Safe
  • Effective
  • Caring
  • Responsive
  • Well-led

Inspectors spend their time interviewing clients, family members and employees of the organisation on the quality of the service. Inspectors also review documents and policies, observe care, review care records and file through all complaints and compliments made. At the end of an inspection, a summary is given on what was found and the highlights of the inspection. Any suggested improvements are discussed and the final inspection rating is confirmed. The possible ratings are as follows:

  • Inadequate
  • Requires Improvement
  • Good
  • Outstanding (That’s us!)

I am thrilled that the inspectors have recognised the great work being done here in Trafford and would like to thank the whole of the Beloved Homecare team for their dedication.

How did we achieve an overall ‘Outstanding’ rating?

We respect people’s wishes and offer the maximum amount of choice to our client’s to maintain their independence. The support plans we construct are truly personalised and tailored to meet the individual. We appreciate that not one cap fits all. We offer creative solutions to help our client’s stay safe at home. Whether that be a one-cup kettle or a Gravity Bottle to ensure safe and frequent hydration

We have an exceptional team spirit and team culture. The employees we recruit are all subject to a rigorous pre-employment process and excellent training.

“When they take on staff, they know what they’re looking for. I have peace of mind”.

We have made additions to our training program to include a purpose-built model sitting room in our office as well as a fragility suit and other aids which help to develop empathy for our client’s daily struggles. When development opportunities occur we always encourage staff to partake, whether this is an additional training program or promotion.

Our Management Team is dedicated to supporting our client’s & staff. We know that if our staff are happy and have job satisfaction they are in a better place to provide a quality service.

It is excellent. Everyone I have spoken to is informative, friendly and helpful” a client’s relative added.

Our service also includes an out-of-hours emergency line which is staffed 24/7 by a member of the Management Team. The purpose of this is to provide support to staff and clients outside of normal office hours.

Throughout the pandemic, we have maintained a safe service for our clients. With large supplies of the appropriate PPE and further infection control training for our staff, we have implemented all the measures possible to keep everyone safe. On numerous occasions, we have communicated, effectively, with family members and relatives to update them on the well-being of their loved one. Where possible, we have shared photos and arranged FaceTime calls with clients and their relatives, this brief moment of normality for both certainly helped to lift spirits on both ends. Family members also have access to our PASS System – an industry-leading time/care management platform that allows for family members to access the care notes of their loved ones.

Staff had gone ‘above and beyond’ what was expected from their roles to ensure people received outstanding care and support. People who used the service and their relatives were at the heart of how the service was run, and involvement in the care they received was a high priority to the management and staff team.
